1989 BMW E30 325i Sport finished in Dolphin Grey, 2.5 petrol, 5 speed manual, showing 163k miles, covered 6k miles on rebuilt engine, MOT till May 2023, Usual Sport spec which includes PAS, EW, CL. HISTORY
We purchased this E30 back in 2008 as a running project, it was complete and a original car, previous owner was a lady who owned and used it since 2003. We don't know alot about the history other than the hpi reveals an historic claim back in 2001, we don't know what this was for as all the panels were original and there were no signs of any accident repairs when we carried out the restoration, the v5 has no mention of this and is clear.
BODY & PAINTWORK
Both body & paintwork are in excellent condition, We carried out the bodywork in 2008 with a total strip down having all the trims and windows removed, the metal work wasn't too bad, welding was carried out where necessary, rust proof treated a full repaint was carried out including the bodykit and trims, since then the E30 has always been kept in a garage and only taken out on dry days.
ENGINE & GEARBOX
The E30 has the correct matching number M20B25 6 cylinder engine which produces a respectful 170bhp, the engine was removed and stripped, the crank was checked and polished, lots of new parts where fitted including new shell bearings, new big ends, new piston rings, new conrod bolts, the cylinders where horned, new 885 cylinder head, new camshaft, new rockers, new exhaust/inlet valves, new head bolts, all the associated gaskets & seals where replaced together with a new waterpump and timing belt, all parts where supplied by C3 BMW and all the engine work was carried out by a BMW specialist, all external parts where cleaned and powder coated. The E30 has the 5 speed manual getrag 265 gearbox fitted, the gearbox was stripped and reconditioned by a transmission specialist and was fitted with a new Sachs clutch kit, clutch slave cyclinder, fresh oil and clutch fluid., the rear limited slip diff which has a ratio S3.91 was checked and fitted with a new diff bush and fresh oil.
SUSPENSION. BUSHES & STEERING
All the suspension and bushes where removed and replaced, the shocks where upgraded to a new set of Bilstein B6 shocks, new 40mm lowering springs, new top mounts, new front wishbones & bushes, new ball joints, new anti roll bar links & bushes, new engine & gearbox mounts. new rear axle mount bushes, new propshaft coupling, new diff bush in addition a front and rear strut braces have also been fitted, a new steering rack was fitted with new steering arms and track rod ends.
BRAKES
All the brakes where replaced having new front and rear brake discs and pads, new rear brake shoes with fitting kit, all the brake pipes and handbrake cables where replaced together with new brake master cylinder and fresh brake fluid.
FUEL SUPPLY & ELECTRICS
All the fuel pipes where removed and replaced with new ones, a new uprated Walbro 255 fuel pump was fitted along with a new fuel pressure regulater, new idle control valve, throttle body cleaned & polished, a reconditioned MAF fitted, all the sensors where replaced including temperature, oil and crank sensors, new distributor cap & rotor arm, new coil, new alternator regulator, new battery together with a K&N panel filter,
WHEELS
A new set of 16" 7.5j 4x100 BBS style wheels are fitted with 205/50/16 tyres, all tyres are in excellent condition.
INTERIOR
The E30 comes fitted with a rare set of Silver sport seats with black piping and matching leather door cards, rear headrests, rear armrest, 370mm Mtech 2 leather steering wheel, rear blind, Blaupunkt radio/cassette player, premium rear speakers, cassette holder, OBC with additional 6 button OBC, Black roof lining, map reading light rear view mirror, rear pop out windows, exterior shadow line kit, front headlight wash wipes, fitted mud guards, genuine BMW heavy duty floor mats, fitted fire extinguisher, BMW glovebox torch, full tool kit and a BMW emergency first aid box.
